Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Schwarzenbach, Germany, triple tune, rolling moon tall case clock time and quarter chime on 9 tubes with option for Westminster, Whittington, or Winchester chimes + silent lever The movement is 8 day and has a three jar mercury pendulum housed in an elaborately and ornately carved mahogany case with well carved male & female figures flanking the hood and trunk and with gargoyles on the base on claw feet, and wtih moon phase dial. c1900
CONDITION:
the impressive case retains its original finish, the feet have been removed for transport. The mercury is about 50% the level it should be but is present and the jars are stained but should clean up. The dial is slightly darkened. Ht 99"
